What is your earliest memory? Write one paragraph describing what you remember.

Write down the question that will be the catalyst for your story. For example, Why would a person...? What happens when...?

Ask someone to tell you the story of how they meet their spouse or partner. Let a day or two pass, and then try to write their story as a brief piece of fiction.

Write one page of dialogue without using any dialogue tags or descriptions.

Write a scene with these objects: a bird, a sealed letter, cinnamon, velvet, and a key.

Write a paragraph about something you absolutely hate.

Write a paragraph about the same object as previous exercise, but this time write about that object as if you love it.

8.  Write a scene with a person in a dark room or blind folded.  They can only feel their way to the door.  Describe their journey.
